A Great South West City where knowledge and innovation meet opportunity
Exeter’s position as one of the UK’s fastest growing and innovative cities has been showcased at a national event.
Representatives from the city travelled to Leeds to take part in the UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF).
The Exeter contingent was part of the Great South West delegation at this year's event, to showcase opportunities in the city and the wider region. Exeter City Council Director of Place, Ian Collinson, spoke alongside partners from the University of Exeter and Exeter Science Park, highlighting the city’s strengths in climate science, tech innovation, and sustainable growth. With 12,000 new homes planned, world-class research, and a thriving cultural scene, Exeter is leading the way for a greener, healthier, and more connected future.
The event was a chance for city leaders and partners to highlight the strengths of the city to a national audience.
Among those taking part were Stuart Brocklehurst, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Business Engagement and Innovation, and Director of Green Futures Solutions at Exeter University, and Sally Basker Chief Executive Officer, Exeter Science Park.
The city has some of the world's best education including The University of Exeter, a leading Russell Group university, and the Ofsted Outstanding Exeter College, anchoring the educational offer of Exeter and the South West.
At the Exeter Science Park - the South West’s centre of activity for businesses in STEMM - there is space and a community for high-tech businesses to grow.
And Liveable Exeter, the council’ s transformational regeneration programme, will see the building of 12,000 high quality homes in the city, creating sustainable new neighbourhoods whilst protecting green spaces and valley parks.
