About the Devon Climate Emergency

The Devon Climate Emergency

The Devon Climate Emergency is a partnership of organisations from across Devon, including local councils, community groups, universities and businesses, brought together to find collaborative solutions to the climate crisis and to work out how Devon will achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2050 at the latest. The Devon Climate Emergency Response Group, of which Exeter City Council is a member, focuses on the delivery of the Devon Carbon Plan and the Climate Adaptation Strategy for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The Devon Carbon Plan

The Devon Carbon Plan was published in September 2022. The plan provides a detailed route of how Devon will successfully decarbonise to meet its net zero goals.

The Climate Adaptation Strategy for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

The Climate Adaptation Strategy, published in November 2023, helps communities and organisations better understand the risks their area might face as a result of climate change.

The strategy supports adapting to the changes to improve communities' safety resilience.
