Transport

A number of measures have been taken to reduce our transport emissions, in line with the Carbon Reduction Plan, including:

Existing Green Travel Plan in place and under review for update to encourage sustainable travel choices for employees travelling to, from and during work.
3No. Electric Refuse Collection Vehicles (eRCVs) in operation Summer 2022, resulting in significant diesel savings from electrification of refuse vehicles, promotion of EV locally and better air quality due to reduced point-of-use emissions.
Installation of new EV charging facilities at several Exeter sites in 2014 - John Lewis car park, Guildhall car park, Mary Arches car park, Matford Park and Ride car park, Cathedral and Quay car park, Magdalen Road car park, Oakwood House office (fleet and staff only), Civic Centre. Car park users can charge electric vehicles for free. Over half of charge points supplied by renewable solar PV generated by the car park solar PV panels. These are available for public use in the day and fleet charging overnight.
18x (16.5%) electric vehicles (including 3x electric Refuse Collection Vehicles (eRCVs)), and 4x (3.7%) petrol hybrid vehicles in active fleet of 109 vehicles in 2022/23.
