Corn Exchange

We are always looking for volunteers of all ages to join our friendly front of house team. It’s a great way to get involved with what goes on at the Corn Exchange without making a major commitment of time. You will assist in making our audiences feel welcome, contribute to their enjoyment and ensure they leave with a smile on their face.

Red Coat Volunteers

Exeter’s Red Coat Guides are familiar on the streets of Exeter. An award-winning voluntary service managed by Exeter City Council since 1988. Recognition they have received include the Queens Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award that can be given to a voluntary organisation.

The guides offer free guided tours relating to the city’s history and heritage every day of the year except Christmas day and Boxing day. Not only do they offer quality, but also variety, with up to 25 different tours covering up to 15 different themes every week.

Becoming a Red Coat Guide, involves completing a rigorous training programme with assessments that requires of 2 full days a week for five months (November to March). Currently there is not a training programme scheduled until 2027.However if you are interested in finding out more please contact redcoat.admin@exeter.gov.uk

Royal Albert Memorial Museum

Volunteering is a great way to get involved with Exeter’s world class museum – you can share your knowledge, learn new skills and meet new people.

More than 200 volunteers add value to museum life throughout the year, contributing to a range of activities and projects.
