Pay your Council Tax

By far the easiest way to pay your Council Tax is by Direct Debit. This can be set easily on our Set up a Direct Debit page.

If you have a debit or credit card you can pay your Council Tax now, all you need is your account reference.

If you're having difficulty paying your Council Tax, support may be available. Find out about Council Tax reduction, discounts, exemptions and financial hardship support.

Start the journey

Your account number and your debit or credit card.

Click Start to go to payment pages. Click on the Council Tax option.

Post Office and PayPoint

Take your bill to any Post Office or PayPoint outlet. There is a barcode on the bill which they will need to scan.

You can find your nearest branch by using the Post Office Branch Finder.
