3. How to find us
During the school holidays we are extremely busy and often cannot answer the phone immediately. Please us our Contact Us form instead, we will need to know on which day and time you would like to join a tour and how many people you would like to book on to a tour, please also give us a contact telephone number - Please note we do not allow under 5’s on our tour.
The entrance to Exeter's Underground Passages is at 2 Paris Street (EX1 1GA), in the city centre, by Princesshay Car Park.
Paris Street is just off the main High Street as it joins Sidwell Street. You will find the entrance to the Underground Passages on the between 2 shops: ‘Next’ and the back of ‘Zara’.
Getting to us
By bus
- Exeter Bus station is a short walk from the Underground Passages Entrance
- The road from the bus station out onto Sidwell Street is flat and step-free
- The road from the bus station onto Paris Street has a slight incline
- All buses into the city centre (A, B, C, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, P, R, S) will stop on Sidwell Street or High Street, a few minutes' walk away. The 4/4A will stop on Paris Street, outside our entrance, or on Sidwell Street
- Exeter has several Park & Ride sites, please see below. For more information, please visit the Stagecoach website
- Honiton Road Park & Ride: The number 4 or 4A bus (towards the city centre from the Park & Ride) stops at Honiton Park & Ride and then stops directly outside the Underground Passages entrance in the city centre
- Sowton Park & Ride: The C bus heads towards the city Centre and will stop at Sidwell Street and High Street, a few minutes’ walk away
- Matford Park & Ride: The C bus heads towards the city Centre and will stop at Sidwell Street and High Street, a few minutes’ walk away
- The number 355, 369, 55, 5A/B/C and 6A buses from outside Exeter into the city centre will stop next to The Underground Passages entrance
By rail
- The closest railway stations are Exeter Central and St James' Park, both around a 15-minute walk from the Passages
- For services arriving at Exeter St Davids, take the H bus to the High Street or the 4/4a bus to Sidwell Street. The Passages are approximately 5 minutes' walk from Sidwell Street. Alternatively taxi cabs are readily available at Exeter St Davids station
By coach
- The closest drop-off point is on South Street. Follow the High Street up to the middle of the city centre from your drop-off point and then turn right onto Paris Street
- Coach parking is available at Haven Banks Coach Park
By car
- The Underground Passages are in walking distance of most of Exeter’s city centre car parks with the closet being the Princesshay Car parks and the John Lewis Car Park
