2. Apply for a pavement café licence
Before applying for a pavement café licence you will need to download this notice (also available as a pdf) and affix it to the outside of your premises. You must do this on the same day that you submit your application. You will need to take a photo of the notice on display.
In order to complete the online application you will need to have the following documents available:
- A clear site plan indicating proposed area of street café
- A clear layout diagram showing exact positions and numbers of tables and chairs
- Pictures/brochures of proposed furniture
- A clear photograph of the site notice affixed to the premises
- A copy of your current public liability insurance for a minimum value of £5million specifically covering tables and chairs on the highway
The form will accept your documents in the following file formats: docx, pdf, jpg, png.

You'll need the following:

- A payment method for the (non returnable) fee
- Your premises address details
The application should be displayed for 14 Days for public consultation.
If the licence is not determined with a further 14 days the application will have been deemed to have been granted subject to the conditions published.
