5. Adrian Pengelly - Strategic Director of Operations
With over 35 years of experience, Adrian has worked in a number of senior management roles within the local authority and arm’s length management company sector primarily leading asset management investment and transformation programmes.
A Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and with a degree in Housing and Development, Adrian leads an integrated approach to delivering key operational services across the Council, championing high standards of maintenance, efficiency, and commercial innovation.
His key responsibilities include:
- inspiring civic pride by providing a clean, safe and high-quality environment across the city’s streets, canal and open spaces
- visibly supporting our tenants who are housed in more than 4,700 council homes, providing them with a safe and high-quality repairs and maintenance service, and delivering new Council housing through the Council’s development programme
- managing our other Housing services provided by the Council
- ensuring that investment in the Council’s corporate property portfolio matches the needs and aspirations of service users across the City
- leading the delivery of Environmental Health and an integrated waste collection and recycling service to the residents and businesses of the city
