Breach of planning control: Development or change of use carried out without required permission
Enforcement Notice: A legal document requiring specific actions to remedy a breach
Expedient: When action is considered necessary and in the public interest
Permitted Development: Development that can be carried out without planning permission as planning permission has already been granted nationally for such works
Retrospective application: Planning application submitted after development has taken place
