The Devon Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment (GTAA) was commissioned on behalf of a number of Councils in Devon to quantify the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers (including Travelling Showpeople).

In February 2006 the Social Research and Regeneration Unit (SRRU) was commissioned, in conjunction with Dr Zoe James from the University of Plymouth, to conduct a Needs Assessment of Gypsies & Travellers in Devon. The study area includes the Districts of East Devon, Exeter, Mid Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge, Torridge and West Devon as well as the Unitary authorities of Plymouth and Torbay.
