About Pride in Place
Pride in Place is a Government-funded programme designed to support communities to shape the future of their local area.
Heavitree East and Whipton South has been selected to receive £20 million of investment over the next 10 years through the programme. The funding will support projects and initiatives that reflect the priorities of local people and help create stronger, healthier and more connected neighbourhoods.
The programme will be led by a new Neighbourhood Board made up of residents, community organisations, local partners, councillors and the local MP. Together, they will help develop a long-term Pride in Place Plan that sets out how funding will be invested and how local priorities will be delivered.
The focus of the programme is on:
- building strong communities
- creating thriving places
- improving opportunities for local people
- supporting community-led decision making
- investing in projects that make a lasting difference
Community engagement will play a central role throughout the programme, ensuring residents and local groups have opportunities to help shape decisions and influence future investment.
