Neighbourhood Board
A new Neighbourhood Board will be established to help guide the Pride in Place programme for Heavitree East and Whipton South.
The Board will bring together residents, community organisations, businesses, education and faith groups, councillors, local partners and the local MP to help shape priorities and oversee how funding is used. The majority of members will live or work within the local area and reflect the diversity of the community.
The Board will play a central role in developing a 10-year Pride in Place Plan, including identifying priorities, supporting community engagement and helping to shape investment decisions.
The programme is intended to be community-led, with local people helping to influence:
- neighbourhood priorities
- project ideas and investment
- community engagement activities
- long-term planning for the area
The Board will operate in an open and transparent way, with meeting information, papers and minutes published regularly.
By year three, the programme is expected to transition towards a community-led delivery model, with local leadership playing an increasing role in shaping and delivering projects.
