1. How to pay my rent
We use your rent to pay for repairing and managing your home and to cover the cost of any improvements. That is why it is important that you make sure you pay your rent on time.
Online payments
We accept electronic payments for a wide range of council services. Click on the link below to access this service.
Direct debit
Contact us if you wish to set up a direct debit. You can choose to pay fortnightly or per calendar month.
Standing order
Contact the Housing Income Collections team for our banking information to setup a standing order on 01392 265475.
Post Office girobank/Paypoint
You can pay your rent free of charge at any Post Office and at certain shops that advertise Paypoint:
All you need to do is take your rent swipe card into any Post Office or Paypoint outlet with your payment.
To use this service you will need a small plastic swipe card. If you haven't received a rent swipe card, these can be obtained by contacting your the Payments and Collection Officer.
By telephone
If you hold a debit or credit card you can pay over the phone. Just call 01392 665885 and quote your rent reference number. This is the 12 digit number found in the bottom right corner of your payment card. Please remember that if you pay by credit card, your card issuer is likely to charge you interest.
Salary/wage deduction
Our employees can have their rent deducted direct from their salary/wage. If you wish to take this option please contact us.
Please remember
It is important that you make sure you pay your rent on time. If you do not pay your rent, you will be at risk of losing your home. If you have any concerns about paying your rent, please speak to the Housing Income Collections team and they can discuss your options. You have also published some information on how to get help if you are are struggling.
You must pay all bills (including Council Tax, water, electricity and gas) for your home, and district heating scheme charges (if applicable). You must pay these direct to your provider, unless the charges are included in your service charge.
If you live in a block of flats or in Older Person Housing, you may receive services that you have to pay for as part of your rent. Please see our section on service charges for more information.
