10. Right to Manage
Right to Manage is when a group of Local Authority residents choose to manage their homes themselves by coming together to set up a group called a Tenant Management Organisation (TMO).
Once a TMO is formed the organisation can enter into a legal agreement which allows them to take on collective responsibility for managing their homes. This might include things like organising repairs and arranging estate cleaning services.
Residents remain a council tenant or leaseholder, and their rights do not change. The only change is the organisation helps manage the homes.
